EDURom InfoDays: Listening to the Community and Building Together

EDURom InfoDays: Listening to the Community and Building Together

As part of the EDURom project, InfoDays were held in Romania at the premises of project partner Pe Bune, which organised and hosted the meetings.

The InfoDays brought together participants for open conversations about education, learning opportunities and the challenges faced by people who have fewer resources, encounter more barriers and often have fewer opportunities to have their voices heard.

Introducing EDURom – and then listening

During the meetings, participants were introduced to the EDURom project, its goals and the activities planned as part of the project. We presented the main directions of the project and explained our ambition to develop educational activities that respond to the real needs of the community.

But the most important part came next: listening.

Through focus groups, questionnaires and open conversations, participants had the opportunity to share their experiences, interests, educational needs and the challenges they encounter when accessing learning opportunities.

The discussions helped us gain a better understanding of what participants are interested in learning, what kinds of support they need and what could make education more accessible and relevant to their everyday lives.

Understanding needs through dialogue

The InfoDays were an important opportunity to move beyond simply presenting information about the project.

By talking directly with participants, we were able to learn more about their perspectives and experiences. Their input will contribute to the further development of EDURom activities and help ensure that the project responds to actual educational needs rather than assumptions.

For EDURom, understanding the community means being prepared to listen, ask questions and learn from the people the project aims to support.

Building with people, not just for people

The InfoDays organised by Pe Bune were therefore much more than information sessions. They created a space for connection, trust and participation.

We believe that meaningful educational programmes should be developed together with the people who will take part in them. Their experiences, ideas and needs should be part of the process from the very beginning.

Good programmes are built with people, not simply for people.

The conversations held during the InfoDays are an important step in the EDURom journey. They will help us better understand the challenges, interests and aspirations of participants and contribute to creating educational opportunities that are more accessible, practical and relevant.

We would like to thank all participants for their openness, honesty and active involvement, and Pe Bune for organising and hosting the EDURom InfoDays.
